• Washington Elementary is one of the oldest existing school buildings in the San Leandro Unified School District. Built in 1916, the school retains much of its historic architectural charm. In the last decade Washington Elementary School has received numerous updates to its campus including, updated restrooms, updates to the school library, gardens and garden boxes.
    Currently Washington Elementary School has 19 classrooms (K-5). There is one Spanish Bilingual Classroom for every grade in first through fifth grade. There are two Spanish Dual Immersion classrooms in Kindergarten. On staff there is a School Psychologist, Speech Therapist, Resource Teacher, Counselor, Primary Language Para-Educator, Resource Para-Educator, Librarian and Parent Facilitator. In addition to the 19 classrooms, there is a library, a parent resource room, an auditorium, a cafeteria, an art room, a music room, and an ASES (After School Enrichment and Safety) room.
