ASES (After School Education and Safety)

Washington Elementary provides the program, After School Education Safety (ASES) through a contract with the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro, which administers the ASES program. A wonderful partnership developed between the San Leandro Unified School District and the Boys & Girls Club of San Leandro at Washington to create a fantastic ASES Program with the vision of “Exploring Our World Through Nature!”

While ASES is located at Washington, it is a separate program that students must be enrolled in to participate.  The program is open for students in first through fifth grade.  The Youth Development Coordinators work for the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro at Washington and create amazing activities for students that are aligned with the State Education Standards.  

The program is open every day that school is in session until 6pm.  Members are required to attend five days a week for a minimum of 15 hours per week.  Monday through Thursday each member attends an Enrichment Block and a Homework Block.  On Friday members get to participate in Free Choice Fridays.  They have the opportunity to choose two activities like, cooking class, dance, dodge ball, science, just to name a few.

Scholarships are available, but space fills up fast so make sure to enroll your child in the spring time for the upcoming school year!
