Natasha Martinez was unanimously appointed to the San Leandro Unified School District Board of Education in October 2025 to represent Area 6. She will serve until the statewide general election for governing board members on November 3, 2026.
Martinez has lifelong ties to San Leandro schools and community life. She is a proud graduate of John Muir Middle School and San Leandro High School and is now the parent of four children, with one a San Leandro High graduate and three currently in district schools.
For more than a decade, Martinez has been a dedicated volunteer and leader in San Leandro schools. She served for over ten years as a member of the PTO, including five years as president, and has participated in school site councils at both the elementary and middle school levels. She also served for three years on the LCAP Parent Advisory Committee, helping shape district priorities with a family voice.
In addition to her school-based involvement, Martinez is a graduate of the Leadership San Leandro program and was recognized as Volunteer of the Year by John Muir Middle School for her outstanding service.
Martinez is excited to join the Board of Education as the district launches its new strategic plan and looks forward to continuing her lifelong commitment to San Leandro students, families, and schools.
