District https://www.slusd.us/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Jefferson-Bilingual-Night-Carousel-2.pngs Mr. Larry Simon and Mr. Rocky Medeiros have been named as the SLUSD Administrators of the Year for the 2020-21 school year.  Mr. Simon serves as the Chief Technology Officer and Mr. Medeiros is the Director of Safety & Emergency Preparedness. In a school year that brought enormous safety and technology challenges to schools across the nation, both leaders proved absolutely essential to the successful launch of both distance learning and the reopening of SLUSD schools in hybrid learning to close the year.

Larry is responsive, flexible and multi-talented in his position. He was essential in our return to hybrid learning this past year, providing endless internal and external support, data development, and all website maintenance and updates.

Rocky has spent countless hours since the pandemic began ensuring that our students and staff are safe and remain healthy. He has contributed to developing staff and student COVID-19 district policies, training staff to support COVID-19 tracking, and following up with families affected by COVID-19 at all hours and all days of the week. Rocky needs to know that his support of student health and safety has not gone unnoticed and is very much appreciated.
