Your Voice Matters at Madison

The James Madison Elementary School Site Council, or SSC, brings families, teachers, staff, and school leadership together to help guide important decisions that support student learning and the overall success of our school.

Our goal is to ensure school priorities, programs, and resources reflect the needs of our students and community.

SSC meetings are open to the public. Families, staff, and community members are welcome and encouraged to attend.

What Does the School Site Council Do?

The SSC works collaboratively to review school data, identify student needs, monitor progress, and help guide the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA).

Throughout the year, the council may review and discuss:

• Student achievement and academic progress
• School climate, attendance, and student wellness
• English Learner progress and ELAC recommendations
• Support for students with disabilities
• Intervention and enrichment programs
• Family and community engagement
• Title I and other school resources
• Progress toward SPSA goals
• School programs and priority initiatives
• Recommendations for future school improvement

Our Madison Priorities

At Madison, our School Site Council helps keep our resources and planning connected to our students’ needs.

Our work may include discussion of priorities such as:

• Science, STEM, Computer Science, and AI learning
• Dual Language Immersion
• English Language Development
• Academic intervention and WIN supports
• Social Emotional Learning
• RIDE with Pride school culture
• Arts, music, and physical education
• Inclusive opportunities for all students
• Family engagement and community partnerships
