We need your help! Meal applications mean money for our schools!

Did you know the free/reduced-price meal program determines school funding for all of our students? Did you know approved meal applications can help reduce costs for internet access, SAT and college application fees, and child care?

This is why we are asking all SLUSD families are being asked to complete the application HERE!

Even if your child doesn’t plan to eat school meals, we need your help to ensure our schools and families can access the resources they need.

About the Benefits

School Funding

Every meal application can generate an additional $6,000 in funding for our schools which will benefit ALL students. Without these completed applications, our schools could lose millions of dollars.

SAT and College Application Fees

Any 11th and 12th-grade student who is approved for the free/reduced-price meal program is eligible for SAT fee waivers. These waivers also allow eligible students to choose four colleges from over 2,000 participating colleges and apply for free.

Child Care and Afterschool Programs

Many organizations enroll children who qualify for free/reduced-price meals in child care, afterschool programs, and summer camps at no cost.

Internet Service

Through a partnership with Comcast, the Internet Essentials Program provides internet for less than $10 a month for qualifying families. You can also purchase a laptop or desktop computer for $149 and get free classes to assist in learning internet basics. Find more information at www.internetessentials.com.
