What kinds of classes do you have?
- All of our ESL classes (except 55+) are in person at the adult school.
- Our classes are comprehensive and require excellent attendance to progress. They are not “drop in”.
- Morning classes are 4x a week from 8:45 am – 12:00 (MTuWTh).
- Afternoon classes are for middle level students and are 2x a week from 12:45-2:45 pm.
- Most evening classes are 4x a week (MTuWTh) from 6:10 pm – 9:15 pm.
- One evening classes is on Mondays and Wednesdays. It is for Beginning High – Intermediate Low students.
- We also offer Citizenship on Saturdays and a beginning ESL class at the senior center on Fridays.
How do I register for classes until May 31?
Students for Citizenship, 55+, and afternoon classes may contact the office for information to start a class asap – 510-667-6287. We have office staff bilingual in Spanish and Chinese.
The Monday – Thursday morning and evening classes are full and have waitlists. We will not have space until summer school.
Summer school
- Summer school will be from July 9 – August 15 (5 weeks)
- Classes are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
- Morning classes are from 8:45 am – 12:00
- Evening classes are from 6:10-9:15 pm
- Summer school will only have low level classes
- The registration form will be available on this web page June 20-21 (until testing appointments are full). The testing appointments will be on June 26 and 27.
- Continuing students (attending class through May 2024) will be able to register for a summer school class with their teachers.
- Students that stop attending classes before the end will need to register as new students.
