Roadway Media is a San Leandro Adult School Partner Program.

Video Editing for Broadcast and Streaming 1 (VEBS1) – this is TWO (2) simultaneous certificate programs

BMD1 – teaches you the skills needed to produce corporate and entertainment quality video using the professional editing tool DaVinci Resolve from Blackmagic Design. The class will cover the setup and management of video libraries, creation of new video projects, basic editing, trim, voiceover & soundtrack attachment, multi-track editing, titling and basic effects/transitions and how to output the results for TV, streaming services, and cinema use. The class will cover all the material needed to be able to pass the BMD editing certification at the end of the class. PC software for the class will be provided.

ESA1 – This class presents the basics of digital storage for professional media and entertainment applications. It discusses the var ious types of storage and how they are used in various elements of an M&E workflow, including content capture, post production, co ntent delivery as well as backup and archiving. The class will cover all the material needed to be able to pass the MET/ESA Creativ e Storage certification.

Electronic Presentation 1 (EP1) – this is TWO (2) simultaneous certificate programs

RMP1 – The business climate has shifted now from the in person presentation to the screen which is the next phase of the business communication cycle. The class will cover observational awareness of how you present on Green Screen capture, video conferencing, HD & 4K cameras, and how people see you on a large screen. The class will discuss makeup, lighting, microphone use & placement, virtual set design and backgrounds, inclusion of videos, stills, and other traditional presentation materials over the streaming media, and how to use and read from a teleprompter.

Classes are focused on ensuring that students have adequate practice, so that they will be successful in their future job endeavors that require computer skills. Students should plan to attend all classes to maximize their learning potential.

Classes are online only and require a computer with internet access for Zoom sessions.

Official Microsoft Certification is proof that you have the skills in Word or Excel that many employers require. Follow the Microsoft Specialist path to get prepared today! Take practice tests, and when you are ready, register to take the official Microsoft Specialist exam.
