Medical Front Office Assistants are key members of the healthcare team. In general, they are the patients’ first contact upon entering the medical office or clinic, and they play a valuable role in providing a positive experience for the patient. The duties of the Medical Front Office Assistant include greeting patients, scheduling appointments, entering demographic and insurance information into the practices ’ electronic health records software, answering phones, assigning medical codes, processing insurance, and patient check-in and check-out. This fully online program is taught by a live instructor, in a real-time virtual classroom using Zoom technology.  This program includes national certification examination and exam prep materials.

Medical billing and coding specialists play a vital role in today’s healthcare industry. Whether employed by a private practice, hospital, clinic, surgery center, or other setting, medical billers and coders use codes to document patient diagnoses and treatments. Their duties include reading and analyzing patient records, determining correct codes for patient records, using codes to bill insurance providers, keeping track of patient data, managing detailed, specifically coded information, and HIPAA compliance. This fully online program is taught by a live instructor, in a real-time virtual classroom using Zoom technology. This program includes exam preparation and national certification examination through the National Healthcareer Association

Training for an exciting and rewarding career as a Clinical Medical Assistant has never been easier! In today’s busy medical practices, Clinical Medical Assistants are vital members of the medical team. In this course, students will learn to assist the physician in providing quality patient care. Students will learn to obtain patient vital signs, assist with minor medical procedures, perform simple laboratory tests, give injections, perform venipuncture (phlebotomy), administer medications and more. This program includes exam preparation and national certification examination through the National Healthcareer Association, as well as a 160-hour externship, where students are placed in a local medical office or health clinic.

With heightened concerns for health and public safety, pharmacy technicians are in demand! This pharmacy technician program is taught in real-time by a live instructor in a virtual classroom using Zoom technology. Topics covered include pharmacology for technicians, pharmacy law and regulations, sterile and non-sterile compounding, quality assurance, and medication safety. Hands-on skills labs are conducted virtually, and students receive lab supplies in the mail.  Must be 18+ years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED. A clean background check is necessary for licensure in CA. Program includes a 120-hour externship where students will apply and hone the skills learned throughout the program.  Upon successful completion of the Pharmacy Technician program, you will be eligible to apply for your California Pharmacy Technician License.  Additionally, this  training qualifies students to sit for either the PTCE (offered through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) or the ExCPT (offered through the National Healthcareer Association).

With more than 85 million households owning at least one pet, the veterinary field is growing, and trained veterinary assistants are in-demand!  Veterinary assistants are valued team members in veterinary practices, clinics, and hospitals. They work with veterinarians and veterinary technicians to provide quality care for healthy, sick, and injured animals. This online program is taught in real-time by a live instructor in a virtual classroom using Zoom technology.  Hands-on skills labs are conducted virtually, and students receive lab supplies in the mail.  As part of the program, students will be placed in a local veterinary clinic or animal hospital to complete a 40-hour externship.
