NEW YEAR and ZOOM SERIES HIGHLIGHTING OUR STUDENTS

WHAT IS THE ZOOM SERIES: STUDENT SPOTLIGHT?

This year, we will roll out stories from our students’ perspectives, past and present. Our Student Spotlight series is a spin-off of the original Zoom Series that focuses on events, partnerships, instructors, courses, and more. This will still continue; however, our new aim is to learn about the impact that the San Leandro Adult & Career Education Center has had on them. Points of focus are the classes that are helpful, how they assist in their careers, perception of the school, and more.

EPISODE ONE

Our new series will begin with Anthony White, a former student who credits his Intro to Business course with the success of his three businesses. The spaces he is making his mark in are fashion, with his clothing line Certified Real, and food. At this point in his career, he is laser-focused on his restaurant and food truck, Dough’In Batter, which specializes in funnel cakes, crepes, waffles, and beignets. On the menu, you’ll also find banana splits, sundaes, soda floats, deep-fried Oreos, and more. They have an assortment of creps such as pizza, cookies and cream, cheesecake, and others. Other unique offerings are beignet burgers, Fruity Pebbles beignets, and a beignets & gravy platter, and more.

RELEASE DATE

On January 30, 2026, the first episode will be released.
