A Message from the JMMS Administration

Dear Muir Community,
It has been a busy and wet start to the new month at John Muir! We hope each of you stayed dry and warm this week. Please remember that on rainy days to send your students with proper rain repellant clothing. If you need assistance with this, please contact a parent facilitator.
Next week is our final week before February Break! It is also Red Ribbon Week, and our leadership students have some educational and fun activities for your students to participate in at lunch to support a healthy lifestyle! On Friday for Valentines Day, we will also have some fun activities for students so everyone is feeling some love!
Quarter 3 Progress Reports for students receiving a C- or below in their classes will also be available on Aeries tomorrow, but please see the message below about using the full Aeries website.
Finally, there will also be no B-Hall tutoring on Thursday 2/13 due to job training for our staff.

Earlier this week we sent a message about parking lot safety. Your safety is our top concern, and it is important that we all remember to set a positive driving example for our students. Based on feedback from our community and staff our District will be making changes to the parking lot over February Break to make our school a safer place for all. Our loop will continue to remain open and be accessible from the entrance that is closest to A Hall/main office. The parking lot will only be accessible from the loop by the adult school. Barriers will be installed to stop traffic from entering the parking lot directly from Williams or the entrance as you enter the loop. Please see the graphic below.
Please remember when dropping or picking up your student to not double park, block driveways, or bike lanes.

The Aeries Mobile App is currently experiencing technical issues. Please use the full Aeries portal/website to access student information and Quarter 3 Progress Reports until the issue is resolved.

8th Grade Residence Verification
|
8th grade families must complete the residence verification process for entry into 9th grade at San Leandro High School by May 16th, 2025, Instructions and necessary forms (in English, Spanish, and Chinese) are attached, along with a link to complete the verification online via SchoolMint. Families can attend an in-person verification day on April 16th, 2025, from 2:30–4:00 p.m. at the John Muir Middle School Main Office if preferred.

The district is piloting a Weekly Academic Report, which will be added to the Weekly Attendance Report that is sent out to families. All of the information is pulled directly from Aeries. This is a new feature, and we welcome any feedback! |

Important Note for Science on the Court:
- This class continues from the Fall session, and while there are only a few openings left, we encourage interested students to register as soon as possible.

For both sessions, please note that students should report to the cafeteria for a snack before being escorted to class.
