Dear Muir Community,


Welcome to March! Time is flying at John Muir and we are having some great events that we can't wait for you and our students to participate in! Next week, on Thursday March 7th is our annual Open House Night at John Muir. It will be an evening filled with musical performances, food, and activities. More information can be found below. 

We are also entering the final half of Quarter 3. Please continue to check Aeries for the latest grade updates, and encourage your student to attend office hours if they need help. If you have any questions about your student's grades, please do not hesitate to contact your students teacher. If you need help accessing Aeries, please reach out to our parent facilitators.

School News
JMMS Open House: Our annual JMMS Open House will be on Thursday 3/7. The event will begin with food vendors selling food at 5pm (Come hungry!) and a music performance by our band and orchestra at 5:30pm in the Gym. From 6-7:30pm there will be activities in the cafeteria and classroom buildings surrounding the courtyard. These activities will be open to all ages and showcase all the amazing learning our students are doing! Make sure to grab an Open House Passport and get all the activities completed to receive a prize at the end! We hope to see you there!


8th Grade Information

8th grade Promotion Order Forms, Permission Slips, Parent Volunteers:  
Friday, 8th grade students received a Promotion Order Form to be completed and returned. If your student is missing a requirement they did not receive one, and instead received a letter outlining what they need to complete to receive an order form. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Once you receive the forms, please be sure to return all paperwork promptly so that we can begin ordering materials.

Ms. Jacob also provided all students who were missing an 8th grade contract a new contract to complete and turn into the front office on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.

For your reference, the estimate for the field trip will be $60 and the gowns are $25.

We will need parent chaperones for our 8th grade Promotion Party on Friday May 31st. If you are able to chaperone please contact Mrs. Jacob at mjacob@slusd.us
