Dear Muir Community,
February has been a whirlwind of activities! We've had our 7th Grade Community Building and College Readiness activities, Lunar New Year lunch celebrations, Red Ribbon Week demonstrations from our TUPE student leaders (Tobacco Use Prevention Education), and Valentines posted all over our school campus! We've also started preparing for 8th Grade promotion, so each week we will have a section dedication to 8th Grade announcements.
We would like to thank you for all your continued support and partnership. We hope you all have a very safe and restful break!

LCAP Feedback for JMMS Families: On Wednesday 3/28 we will be having our second LCAP Feedback Engagement Meeting for our JMMS Families. Come to the JMMS library at 8:30am for the opportunity to provide your feedback on both our school and district goals. If you are unable to make it, you can use this form to submit your thoughts and feedback for our school.
Quarter 3 Progress Reports: Quarter 3 Progress Reports are now available on Aeries. If you are having trouble accessing Aeries, please reach out to our Parent Facilitators. If you have concerns about your child's grades and progress, please reach out to your child's teachers or counselor.
JMMS Open House: Our annual JMMS Open House will be on Thursday 3/7. The event will begin with food vendors selling food at 5pm (Come hungry!) and a music performance by our band and orchestra at 5:30pm in the Gym. From 6-7:30pm there will be activities in the cafeteria and classroom buildings surrounding the courtyard. Make sure to grab an Open House Passport and get all the activities completed to receive a prize at the end! We hope to see you there!

| 8th Grade Information |
8th grade Promotion Parent Information Session: Due to additional requests, we are adding one more 8th Grade parent information evening session on Zoom. If you have not yet attended one of our meetings, please be sure to attend on February 27th at 6 PM on Zoom at this link: https://slusd-us.zoom.us/j/85671359207?pwd=eU5wTHhRaHZidDFpOTF5MG1TVnFLdz09 .
8th grade Promotion Order Forms, Permission Slips, Parent Volunteers: During the week of 2/26-3/1, we will be sending home Promotion Order Forms, Field Trip Permission Slips, and requests for Parent Volunteers. Once you receive the forms, please be sure to return all paperwork promptly so that we can begin ordering materials.
For your reference, the estimate for the field trip will be $60 and the gowns are $25.
