Dear Muir Community,

We want to wish the John Muir Community a Happy Lunar New Year/Tết, and hope everyone has a safe and relaxing weekend! Our students celebrated today at Muir and throughout the week with a red envelope exchange and lantern making.

Our 7th graders also had an exciting week with field trips to local colleges, a challenge day, and lessons on health and emotional wellness. We want to thank all our staff, chaperones, and facilitators for their support and flexibility this week as we navigated the storms and unexpected challenges. Your admin and counseling team are also strategizing ways to check in with our 7th graders to keep the positive conversations going.

Next week, we will have Red Ribbon Week and Valentines Day events for our students. As a friendly reminder, please do not bring any balloons for Valentines Day. This also includes items that are too large to fit in a student's locker. We want everyone to have a safe and fun Valentines Day.

School News

SSC & ELAC: Next week we have our ELAC and SSC Meetings. The agenda for these meetings can be found on our school website. Previous agendas and minutes can also be found on our school website. We hope to see you there!

LCAP Feedback for JMMS Families: On Thursday 2/15 we will be having an LCAP Feedback Engagement Night for our JMMS Families. Come to the JMMS library at 6pm for the opportunity to provide your feedback on both our school and district goals.

Quarter 3 Progress Reports: Quarter 3 Progress Reports will be available for families on 2/14 at 4pm on Aeries. If you are having trouble accessing Aeries, please reach out to our Parent Facilitators.

JMMS Open House: Our annual JMMS Open House will be on Thursday 3/7. The event will begin with food vendors selling food at 5pm (Come hungry!) and a music performance by our band and orchestra at 5:30pm in the Gym. From 6-7:45pm there will be activities in the cafeteria and classroom buildings surrounding the courtyard. Make sure to grab an Open House Passport and get all the activities completed to receive a prize at the end! We hope to see you there!
