Madison Mustang Weekly School Bulletin
Welcoming the Year of the Wood Snake: Embracing Wisdom, Resilience, and New Beginnings!

Greetings Madison School Community,

As the weather changes, it’s time to bundle up with pants, coats, hats, and gloves – which often means a significant increase in lost items. This is a friendly reminder to double-check what comes home and ensure items don’t accidentally belong to another student. Labeling your belongings helps tremendously – items with names and classes are 100% more likely to be reunited with their owners! Our dedicated parent volunteers have been actively sorting through the lost and found, and labeling makes their work even easier.
At some point, we plan to donate any unclaimed items to community organizations in need, so please be sure to check the lost and found soon.
Special note: One of our Madison Mustangs has not been able to find his unique hoodie the family purchased on a recent trip to Hawaii.  Take a look at this image of the design on the hoodie.  If you see it, please drop it off in the office no questions asked.  The student has been putting up signs around the school, because it means that much to him. Thank you in advance for looking!

This week is also Kindness Challenge Week, and our school is collecting socks for both adults and children to support the victims of the recent fires in Southern California. It’s also a great time to be mindful of our emotions, especially if you're feeling anxious or frustrated. Our school community is interdependent, and the way we choose to engage with one another can truly make a difference in someone’s day.
Lastly, I’ve noticed an increase in horn honking around the parking lot area. Please remember that we all share this space, and patience goes a long way. Many of our drivers are dropping off young children, students with special abilities, or grandparents who may need extra time to safely navigate the area. Don't forget to pull completely forward before allowing students to exit the vehicle.  This helps with the flow of the lot!
Let’s all strive to bring our best selves into this space and create a positive environment for all.
This week, let’s spread kindness like it’s confetti!
Warmly,
Principal Paulette Smith

Important Things to Know About Our Lunar New Year Event on February 7, 2025:

The nominal ticket fee helps us offset the costs of hosting this incredible large-scale event. Your support allows us to make this celebration a reality!
  2. Food Options:
This year, we will not be offering a buffet as we have in the past. Instead, please support our amazing food trucks by placing your food orders directly with them.
  3. Performance Etiquette:
The performances will take place in the auditorium, and we ask that the audience remains quiet during the shows to respect the performers. The theater will be closed during the performances, but feel free to move between performances to minimize disruption.
  4. Activities for All Ages:
Juniper Corner will be a fun space for our younger students to enjoy. We also have a reading corner in the library and other unique activities in surrounding spaces, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy!
We look forward to celebrating the Lunar New Year with you all!
