Peaceful playgrounds enhances learning, prevents bullying, and promotes positive interaction at school!  Let's celebrate our PeaceMakers at Madison.
"Take a Step Towards Peace" is our Motto.

Schools are a living ecosystem where balance is fragile and vulnerable to the changing dynamics of all members living in the system. As we head into Spring, let's collectively pause to notice how we are feeling about ourselves and our school. Spring is a time to fertilize the soil, tend to the weeds, and to plant new seeds. Schools are no different, we must intentionally be kind towards one another, invest in our school's promise of hope and knowledge sharing, and be willing to interrupt words or deeds that make a school's ecosystem toxic.  We are each other's keeper and when we work together we lift all boats.  Happy Spring my friends!

Madison Mustang Spotlight

I want to express my gratitude to SLUSD and ACSA Region 6 for acknowledging and celebrating Adam T. and his family during the School Board Meeting. Our student has faced numerous challenges over the past decade, but has always been supported by the unwavering love of his parents and our school community. He perceives the world through the lens of his favorite superhero, Buzz Lightyear, embracing the notion of limitless possibilities. His parents chose to share his journey with Hunter's Syndrome, highlighting the importance of each precious day and expressing the collective hope for a cure that will enable him to lead a fulfilling life.

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education in primary grades is indeed important for several reasons:

Early Exposure: Introducing STEM concepts at a young age helps children develop an interest and familiarity with these subjects early on, laying a strong foundation for future learning.

Critical Thinking: STEM education promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and inquiry-based learning, which are essential skills for success in school and beyond.

Hands-On Learning: STEM activities often involve hands-on, interactive experiences, which are highly engaging for young learners and help them understand abstract concepts in a concrete way.

State Assessments Update:
We are currently giving all English Language Learners the State ELPAC assessment across all grades.  The ELPAC is used to determine students' level of English proficiency and to ensure that they are progressing in their language acquisition skills. Our students are doing great!

ELPAC is an important tool for assessing and supporting the educational needs of English language learners in California, and parents should be aware of its significance in their child's academic journey.
