March 5, 2024, is the Presidential Primary Election


  • The last day to register to vote for the Presidential Primary Election on March 5 is February 20. 

  • You can apply to register to vote right now by filling in the online application. The application is available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Hindi, Japanese, Khmer, Korean, Tagalog, Thai, and Vietnamese.

  • All of California's active registered voters will receive a vote-by-mail ballot for this election.

  • The Alameda County Elections Office began mailing ballots on February 5, 2024.

  • Ballot drop-off locations opened on February 6, 2024. Find drop-off locations here.

  • Vote-by-mail ballots can be returned by mail, at a drop-off location, or at the county elections office.

  • Find your local vote center here for those who prefer to vote in person.

  • Vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by March 12, 2024. No postage is needed.
