Exciting News for SLUSD Families!

We're thrilled to announce our Summer Learning Program for 2024, designed for San Leandro Unified students who need additional academic support. Eligible students will receive invitations to join us for a summer filled with learning and enrichment.

How Are Students Selected?

SLUSD educators nominate students based on various criteria, including grades, test scores, and local assessments. Space is limited, and enrollment will be first-come, first-served.

Program Details:

Program Dates: Monday through Friday, from June 14 to July 23, 2024. Please note: No sessions on June 19, July 4, and July 5.

• Elementary Students (Rising K-5):

  • Location: Halkin Elementary, 1300 Williams Street

  • Schedule: Academic Program June 17 - July 12 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM; Enrichment Program from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM in partnership with Boys & Girls Club of San Leandro (BGCSL) and through the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P)

  • Extended Learning Program with BGCSL through ELO-P: Full-day programming from July 15 - July 19, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

• Middle School Students (Rising 6-8):

  • Location: John Muir Middle School, 1444 Williams Street

  • Schedule: Academic Program June 17 - July 12 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM; Enrichment Program from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM for rising 6th & 7th graders at Halkin in partnership with Boys & Girls Club of San Leandro (BGCSL) through the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) 

  • Extended Learning Program with BGCSL through ELO-P: Full day programming at the BGCSL Clubhouse, 2200 San Leandro Blvd., July 15 - July 19, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

  • Special Program for Rising 8th Graders: Hands-on Summer Career Technical Education camp from June 17 - June 28, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM (lunch and transportation provided).

• High School Programs:

  • Grade/Credit Recovery and Internship/Pre-Apprenticeship: For rising 11th and 12th graders at Fred T. Korematsu Campus, SLHS, 13701 Bancroft Ave, from June 14 - July 23, 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM.

  • Accelerated Algebra: For rising 9th graders, by application. Same location and dates as above.

• Extended School Year (ESY) for Special Education: By invitation only, for various age groups, at designated locations from June 14 - July 12.

• Boys and Girls Club Fee-Based Summer Camp: Available for rising K-5 and 6-8 at different locations from June 17 - July 19.

Important Information:

Invitations with full details will be sent out in April. Acceptance is required to secure your spot.
