Washington School does not have the facilities to take care of children who are ill.\u00a0 Please contact the school office to report if your child has a communicable disease. This will help us to be alert for signs of illness, etc. in other children and to notify parents of a communicable health outbreak.<\/p>\n<p>Your child will enjoy school and be better able to learn if he\/she is well. It is important that children avoid unnecessary exposure to the many viruses (flu and colds) that abound during the year. If your child becomes seriously ill, runs a very high fever or you are concerned, please contact your doctor.<\/p>\n<p>Please keep your child home from school if he\/she has one of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>a runny nose when the mucus is thick and green<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>severe congestion that interferes with breathing or if wheezing<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>a rash<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>fever<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>severe stomach aches or cramps<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div><a aria-label=\"Pink Eye - Opens a new window\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmedhealth\/PMH0002005\" target=\"_blank\">Pink Eye<\/a><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div><a aria-label=\"Lice - Opens a new window\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmedhealth\/PMH0001843\" target=\"_blank\">Lice<\/a><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If home ill, please keep your child home for 24 hours after he \/ she has recovered from any of the following conditions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>vomiting and diarrhea<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>elevated temperature -\u00ad wait 24 hours after the last aspirin or Tylenol is given<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>other obvious illnesses<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your school nurse Maureen Shapiro P.H.N. at (510) 618-4350 x3335<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ui-widget-footer\">\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Please do not send your child to school if your child has symptoms of illness (fever over 100.1, bright green mucus, vomiting or diarrhea).
