SLUSD COVID-19 Protocols for 2022-2023
Families and Community,

We look forward to welcoming you on Wednesday, August 17!

In preparation for the 2022-2023 school year, SLUSD encourages everyone to get COVID vaccinations and boosters if eligible. Also, remember to stay home and get tested if you are experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms. SLUSD remains aligned with all state and county public health guidance. Details are listed below:

Masking
Face masks are strongly recommended indoors but not mandated for TK-12 learning environments.

Notifications
All COVID case and exposure notifications will continue for the upcoming school year for families and staff.

Positive Cases
Students and staff who test COVID positive need to stay home and test on Day 5.
  • If they test negative, they can return to school on Day 6.
  • If they test positive, they can stay in isolation until Day 10 or test again between Day 6 and Day 10 to see if they are negative.

Visitors and Volunteers
School sites are open! Families are warmly welcomed on campus before/after school but must check in at the school office during the instructional day. See more about our visitor policy here.

Volunteers are welcomed with proof of vaccination and prior authorization. Find out how to volunteer at our schools here.

COVID Testing
FREE take-home COVID tests are available for all SLUSD students at every school, starting on Friday, August 12. Please look for information from your school about available pickup times. Additionally, SLUSD will continue to offer free COVID testing to all students, families, and staff. See our testing information here.
