Per today’s announcement from Governor Newsom regarding the statewide vaccine mandate (or regular testing) for all school employees, and in light of changing health conditions, SLUSD has revised key health and safety protocols to start the 2021-2022 school year.
COVID-19 Vaccination Required for All SLUSD Staff All SLUSD staff, including substitute teachers, remote workers, contractors, and volunteers will be required to be fully vaccinated, or provide weekly COVID test results. Details on how this mandate will be implemented will be communicated to staff shortly.
Universal Masking at all District Campuses Masks are required indoors AND outdoors for all students and staff at TK-12 campuses, regardless of vaccination status. Schools will provide masks to any student or staff who does not have one.

The first day of school for all students is
Wednesday, August 18. Please review the
SLUSD Safety Guide for more detailed information regarding the district’s planning and preparation to start the school year. As always, the district meets or exceeds guidelines issued by the Alameda County Public Health Department (ACPHD) and the Alameda County Office of Education (ACOE) in the
Alameda County 2021-2022 School Guidance.
